BAGHDAD, June 17 (KUNA) -- Six people were killed, and 15 more were injured
in a suicide attack that targeted a police volunteer center in Fallujah,
police said Sunday.
A suicide bomber, wearing an explosive belt, blew himself up after getting
into a crowd of Iraqi volunteers for police force in the city 45 kilometers
west of Baghdad, an Iraqi police source told KUNA by phone today.
Police surrounded the area and prevented civilians from getting close by as
precautionary measure, where ambulances rushed to the scene to evacuate the
victims to the city's general hospital, the source added.
The targeted enrollment center opened last week, after a number of other
centers in Fallujah were attacked.(end)
