BAGHDAD, June 8 (KUNA) -- Two US soldiers were killed and two others were
wounded in different incidents in Baghdad, the US Army said on Friday.
In a statement, the US Army said a US solider with the Multi-National Force
(MNF) was killed on Wednesday in southeastern Baghdad when an explosive device
went off while he was engaged in a combat operation.
Two other soldiers were wounded in the same explosion and were taken to a
coalition medical center for treatment, it said.
Another army statement said a US soldier was also killed on Wednesday when
an explosive device planted on the side of the road went off as his patrol
vehicle was passing by.
The explosion took place in the eastern part of Baghdad.
This brings the death toll of US soldiers in Iraq to 27 for the month of
June, with a total of 3,504 American soldiers killed since the fall of Saddam
Hussein's regime in March 2003. (end)
