ALGIERS, June 6 (KUNA) -- A policeman was killed and eight people injured
when a conventional grenade went off in front of the justice council of Tizi
ozo, 110 kilometers east of the Algerian capital on Wednesday.
The bomb was placed in front of the main fence of the council's headquarter
near a bus station in the heart of the town.
Injured people were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The Tizi ozo Justice council two days ago issued life imprisonments against
a leader of a Muslim Salafi group, now known in Algeria as the Al Qaeda
Organization in the Islamic Meghrib region.
Few days ago, the organization threatened to carry out insurgency in
response to the strict policy pursuits against its members. (end)
