ALGIERS, June 1 (KUNA) -- The German Corporations are keen on establishing
investment projects in Algeria valued over USD 100 million, a German official
said here Friday.
Andreas Hurgenrudzr, General Director of the Algerian-German chamber of
industry and commerce, was speaking at a news conference as he was announcing
Germany's participation in the Algeria International Exhibition, due tomorrow.
He said the Algerian and German sides were about to conclude investment
agreements.
Hurgenrudzr said officials from both countries would meet in Berlin next
July to discuss energy issues and the renewable energy provided by Algeria.
The German ambassador to Algeria said the European Union (EU) decided to
extend USD 11.2 billion for the north African countries to finance renewable
energy projects.
German exports to Algeria jumped 16 percent in 2006 to one billion euros,
while imports amounted to 1.2 billion euros. (end)
