BAGHDAD, May 17 (KUNA) -- A "terrorist" was killed and 81 others were
arrested by the Iraqi Army over the past 24 hours, while the US Army executed
a wide-range security operation in southern Baghdad.
A statement by the Iraqi Army Command said Iraqi forces killed a
"terrorist" in northern Baghdad, and arrested 81 others in Baghdad, Mosul,
Ramadi, Saladin, Diyala, and Kirkuk.
It added that weapons were confiscated during the operation, and explosives
were defused.
Meanwhile, the US Army said in a statement that some 250 Iraqi soldiers and
800 US soldiers executed Operation Dragon Fire in Al-Rasheed, southwestern
Baghdad.
It said the operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the
discovery of seven weapons caches. (end)
