Terrorism will go beyond Iraq - Maliki warns
Politics    4/29/2007 7:28:00 PM

BAGHDAD, April 29 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki on Sunday reiterated that the terrorist operations targeting his country would have more impacts that would stretch to all countries of the world.
This came during his meeting with the Iranian National Security Adviser Ali Larijani.
Al-Maliki said that the Iraqi tribes have begun fighting the terrorist Al-Qaeda cells in the governorate of Al-Anbar and have achieved tangible and positive results, adding that tribes in other governorates have also expressed readiness to fight such terrorist groups.
A statement from Maliki's office quoted him as thanking Iran for agreeing to participate in the two Sharm El-Sheikh conferences in Egypt later this week.
The statement added that Larijani promised that Iran would invest in Iraq's electricity grid and provide fuel supplies.
It pointed out that "Iran has been at the forefront in aiding the government and the Iraqi people after the fall of the dictatorial system and those countries that want security and stability in the region must support the elected Iraqi government." (pickup previous) mhg.tg KUNA 291928 Apr 07NNNN
