Attack in southwest Baghdad kills one US soldier, wounds two BAGHDAD, April 20 (KUNA) -- A US soldier was killed and two others were wounded in an attack on an American base in southwest Baghdad, said the Multi-National Force in a statement on Friday.
The MNF said the base was targeted by a rocket attack.
Other than the soldiers being marines, the release did not give further details.
With the soldier's death, 69 US soldiers were killed since April's beginning. According to the US Defense Department, 3,311 soldiers were killed in Iraq since the fall of Saddam's regime in 2003.(end) mhg.ayh KUNA 201223 Apr 07NNNN
