Islamic Jihad criticizes Arab calls for direct negotiations with Israel
GAZA, April 19 (KUNA) -- The Islamic Jihad strongly criticized on Thursday
the calls of the Arab League for holding an international conference aimed at
engaging in direct negotiations with Israel on all tracks.
In a statement, it rejected the formation of a team that would work with
Israel within the framework of the Arab peace initiative, revived during the
recent Arab Summit in Riyadh.
It said the initiative came at a time when Israel was escalating its
operations against Palestinians and called for the lifting of the siege on the
Palestinians. (end)
