Scores of terrorists, suspects arrested BAGHDAD, March 31 (KUNA) -- The Multi-National forces in Iraq have arrested 212 terrorists and suspects during the past 48 hours in the Iraqi capital and around its suburbs, according to the Law-Imposing Operations Leadership on Saturday.
A statement by the leadership said the multi-national forces have arrested 50 terrorists and 162 suspects in the areas of Kharkh, kathmiya, Mansour, Athamiya, Mahmoudiya, Abu Ghraib, New Baghdad, east of Al-Rasheed, Al-Rasafa and Mada'en.
The statement added that the security authorities were also able to deactivate 11 bombs and free one abducted.
On the other hand, the statement pointed out that 12 policemen were killed, including an officer, and 19 others were wounded, including four officers.
The US Army announced it has detained 16 terrorists in the areas of Arab Jbour south of here during military operations from last night till this morning. (end) aha.tg KUNA 311703 Mar 07NNNN
