BRUSSELS, Sept 28 (KUNA) -- The Gulf Research Center (GRC) based in Dubai organized a training program in the framework of the Al-Jisr project on EU-GCC Relations with the support of the European Commission, in Brussels, with the participation of GCC journalists.
The program, launched on Monday, is aimed at providing journalists from the GCC region with a platform from which they will gain an insight into the workings of the EU.
The week-long program discussed in its first session in the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) a series of lectures on aspects of the European Union, its institutions and policies. Fellow researchers of the center, Piotr Kaczynski, presented an overview of EU institutions, on the other hand, Senior Research Fellow, Ms. Consuelo Pacchioli, discussed the development of the European Single Market. Later, Research Fellow and Head of Communications, Marco Incerti, explored the EU policy making, Ms. Cinzia Alcidi presented an overview of the Euro zone and the crisis, meanwhile Associate Senior Research Fellow, Michael Emerson discussed the EU as an international actor.
The program also includes field visits to various EU institutions like the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers as well as other organizations in Brussels. (end) asa.mt KUNA 280918 Sep 10NNNN
