GAZA, July 19 (KUNA) -- The number of trucks allowed into Gaza Strip on a
daily bases will reach 250 by the end of July, Israeli military sources said,
Monday.
Based on the Israeli decision to ease the siege on Gaza, Israel is allowing
150 trucks carrying goods and aid every day, Radio Israel quoted sources as
saying.
After coming under criticism and pressure over the blockade imposed on Gaza
and especially following the Freedom Flotilla incident back in May, where nine
people were killed and scores others injured, Israel decided to ease its grip
on the strip.
Radio Israel said that the authorities continued to allow the entry of
humanitarian aid delivered by Libyan ship "Al-Amal" which docked at Egyptian
Al-Arish port last Wednesday.
The ship, loaded with some 2,000 tons of humanitarian and medical aid, was
denied pass to Gaza.(end)
