TEHRAN, April 9 (KUNA) -- Iran has discovered seven oil fields with large proven reserves, it was reported here on Thursday.
"After three years of drilling, Iran discovered seven oil reserves", the Arab-language Iranian Al-Wifaq newspaper quoted National Oil Company Managing Director Seifollah Jashnsaz as saying.
The reserve of one of the fields discovered is estimated at nine billion barrels, he revealed. He was discreet about the reserves total volume as well as well as the location of the oilfields, saying that such information would be disclosed next month by Minister of Petroleum Qolam Hosein Nozari.
In a related matter, negotiations on exporting Iranian natural gas to Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain continues, Al-Wifaq said> Quoting Deputy Oil Minister Hossein Noghrehkar Shirazi, the paper said that Iran has reached two agreements on gas liquefaction and secondary petrochemicals industries with Oman, it stated, adding that Shirazi affirmed Iran's keenness in cooperation with neighboring countries in the petroleum industries domain.(end) mw.aia KUNA 091149 Apr 09NNNN
