KUWAIT, June 30 (KUNA) -- 1946 -- Kuwait exported the first commercial cargo of crude oil, 10,567 tons, aboard a British tanker that docked at Al-Ahmadi Port. An official ceremony was held, with attendance of the His Highness the Amir Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
1968 -- A decree was issued stipulating establishment of the Central Bank of Kuwait.
1980 -- A decree was issued stipulating preservation of the fish resources of the state.
1996 -- Kuwait celebrated the golden jubilee for exportation of the first crude cargo at a ceremony held in Al-Ahmadi, attended by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
1999 -- Kuwait and China signed an agreement on establishment of a consulate in Hong Kong after restoration of Chinese sovereignty on the city.
2000 -- Kuwait Petroleum Corporation bought 100,000 metric tons of fuel oil and 75,000 mt of car fuel from a brotherly state for emergencies.
2001 -- Oil Minister Dr. Adel Al-Sebeeh inaugurated headquarters of the KPC in Saint James in central London.
2001 -- The National Assembly approved a bill on amendment of the 1976 traffic law.
2002 -- The cabinet approved establishment of the Gulf University for Science and Technology, the first private university in Kuwait, with a capital of 10 million Kuwaiti dinars.
2006 -- Population of Kuwait swelled to 3.052 million, compared to 2.867 million in 2005, at a growth rate of 6.5 percent.
2010 -- Kuwait Army's ground forces conclude participation in pan-GCC military drill "Gulf Leader" 2010 -- Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development offers KD 8 million-loan to Djibouti to finance building of 110 km road named after His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
