1966 -- Kuwait Army "Hunter" plane crashed, and First Lieutenant Hassan Al-Za'abi was killed. This was the first accident since the establishment of the Air Force in 1953.
1976 -- The Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, issued a decree on amendment of the constitution and dissolution of the National Assembly. The dissolved National Assembly was the fourth in Kuwait's parliamentary history, and the first parliament to be dissolved in the state.
1976 -- The Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, ordered the addition of a new article to the publications law. The article allowed the Kuwaiti cabinet to suspend the publication of any newspaper for up to two years, or cancel its license, if it serves the interests of a foreign country or agency, receives foreign assistance of any form without prior permission from the Information Ministry, or adopts a policy that clashes with Kuwait's national interests.
1998 -- Kuwait's national swimming team won the 10th GCC Men's Swimming Tournament, held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, after winning nine gold medals, 11 silver and two bronze.
2004 -- The Cabinet agreed to donate USD 60 million to the Iraqi government for the reconstruction of its infrastructure, especially schools and hospitals.
2010 -- Kuwait presented USD 1.5 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). (end) haq
