KUWAIT, Feb 28 (KUNA) -- 1904 -- His Highness Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, the seventh ruler of Kuwait, approved establishing a British mail station, affiliated to the bureau of the British High Commissioner.
1946 -- Ali Abdulwahab Al-Mutawa, a merchant and diver, passed away at the age of 57.
1957 -- Kuwait's population stood at 206,473.
1964 -- The first Spanish ambassador to Kuwait handed in his credentials to His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
1966 -- Al-Subahiya town was established on a 5.5-square-kilometer plot of land, comprising 3,196 residential units for limited-income citizens.
1972 -- His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, inaugurated the central communications building.
1979 -- The first kidney transplant in Kuwait and the Gulf was conducted.
