KUWAIT, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- 1928 -- Al-Riqqi Battle occured. Leaders of the Al-Mutair tribe along with 500 others attack the area of Umm Al-Ruwaisat.
1957 -- Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, responsible for security, passes away at the age of 52.
1963 -- The Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issued an Amiri decree forming the second cabinet in Kuwait's history which includes 15 ministers. It was headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
1975 -- The Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issued a law on property claims to state property.
2002 -- Kuwait ranked first in the Middle East and second worldwide in kidney transplants from people who were brain-dead.
2003 -- Women trading hall opened at Kuwait Stock Exchange.
2006 -- Kuwait History Society was promulgated with the aim of promoting history writings and documentation and encouraging research in the field of history to document Kuwait's past history and current and recent advancement and contributions.
2007 -- Chief of National Guard His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah announced giving KD 100 million (USD 300 million), KD 80 million to needy people in Kuwait and KD 20 million for the families of the state's martyrs.
