1919 -- The British Government decorated Sheikh Salem Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, the ninth ruler of Kuwait, with the India Star Medal in a ceremony at Seif Palace.
1921 -- A number of Kuwaiti men presented a memo to the ruler of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and suggesting establishment of a State council to include 12 figures.
1970 -- The Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, issued decree 5/1970 on return of exploited State lands.
1979 -- A huge demonstration was staged in front of the Egyptian Embassy in Kuwait after the Egyptian president signed a peace agreement with Israel.
1984 -- Construction works at the 12,000-square-meters Al-Safat Square project took off at a cost of KD 4.2 million.
1985 -- Jasem Yaqoub, one of Kuwait's best football players, retired.
1995 -- First successful delivery of a test-tube baby was reported after Kuwait's liberation from the Iraqi occupation.
1999 -- Board of Governors at the International Atomic Energy Agency approved, at a meeting in Vienna, signing an agreement on implementing the IAEA safeguards with Kuwait, in appreciation for its adoption of peace and security.
2004 -- Kuwait's Tennis Team won first place in the 17th GCC tournament.
2007 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued decree 66/2007 forming the 24th Cabinet in Kuwait's history, headed by His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. The Cabinet included two women ministers for the first time in the country's history. The female pair were Dr. Maasouma Al-Mubarak and Nouriah Al-Sebeeh.
2010 -- The National Assembly renewed confidence in Oil Minister and Minister of Information Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, following an interpellation session during which he was grilled by MP Ali Al-Deqbasi.
2012 -- The cabinet approved a bill appointing Dr. Mohammad Al-Hashel as Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK).
2014 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad chaired the 25th regular session of the Arab League, held at the summit level. Kuwait hosted the summit the first time since it joined the Arab League on July 20th, 1961.
2015 -- An Amiri Decree was issued accepting resignation of Deputy Premier and Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdulmohsen Al-Medej. (end) gta
