KUWAIT, Nov 24 (KUNA) -- 1961 -- The current Kuwaiti flag bearing four colors is hoisted above state institutions for the first time in a grand ceremony.
1965 -- The 11th Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, passes away of a heart attack after ruling for 15 years.
1966 -- The first ambassador of the Soviet Union to Kuwait presents his credentials.
1966 -- The Embassy of Somalia is inaugurated in Kuwait.
1968 -- The first ambassador of Malaysia to Kuwait presents his credentials.
1997 -- The Ministry of Interior announces that it will name the Police Academy after His Highness The Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, in appreciation of his efforts in police education.
2001 -- Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) forms its first-ever emergency team tasked with forming strategies aimed at addressing work-related hazards in the job.
