1904 -- Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, the seventh ruler of Kuwait, agreed to allow Britain to assign a political commissioner in Kuwait. The first British Commissioner to Kuwait arrived in August, 1904.
1956 -- The first Kuwaiti Hajj mission headed to Holy Makkah accompanied by a medical team presided by Hamad Al-Roumi and comprising 86 pilgrims, including four doctors.
1960 -- The late Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issued a law to regulate civil aviation regulations.
1962 -- The State of Kuwait established diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level with Tunisia. An Amiri decree was issued to assign Rajab Al-Sayed Abdullah Al-Rifaee as an ambassador extraordinary and a commissioner of the State of Kuwait in Tunisia.
1986 -- Grilling motions were presented in the second session of the sixth legislative term. The grillings were directed against minister of communications Eisa Al-Mazidi, minister of finance and industry Jassem Al-Kharafi, minister of oil Sheikh Ali Al-Khalifah, and minister of education Hassan Al-Ibrahim. The parliament was later dissolved on July 3.
1993 -- Hamad Yousef Al-Roumi passed away aged 57 after a long career and distinguished service to Kuwaiti media and cultural fields. He served in many posts in the ministry of information.
2000 -- Inauguration took place of the project of "the capabilities of the year 2000" of the Kuwaiti Company for Developing Small Projects to encourage young Kuwaitis to go freelance through small commercial projects.
2000 -- The charitable Institution for Quranic Sciences and Sunna was established. It provides scholarships for excelling students in Kuwait. The aim of scholarships is to conduct post-graduate studies in Quranic sciences and Sunna, establish interaction between teachers and students of Sharia, as well as between Kuwaiti students and peers in Arab and Islamic countries.
2002 -- Motion for grilling minister of finance and of development and administrative development Yousef Hamad Al-Ibrahim was discussed and MPs renewed confidence in the minister in a vote on July 3rd.
2002 -- Utilities Development Company signed an agreement to provide capital of KD 114.25 million for Sulaibiyah sanitary water system project with the National Bank of Kuwait, Gulf Bank, and Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East.
2005 -- State of Kuwait took over presidency over the Board of Trustees of Islamic Development Bank, which lasts till May 2006.
2007 -- Ahmad Abul nabbed a gold medal at the Asian Grand Prix in India.
2008 -- National Assembly passed a bill on founding a fund to aid those in debt at a capital of KD 500 million.
2010 -- Kuwait Diplomatic Institute held the first graduation ceremony for 45 diplomats at its HQ in Al-Sharqiyah School.
2012 -- Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed a loan agreement with Mali. (end) gta
