KUWAIT, Oct 23 (KUNA) -- 1972 -- The Cabinet assigned eight Kuwaiti observers for an Arab League team to monitor a ceasefire in Yemen.
1981 -- The Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies was set up.
1990 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah met British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in London where they discussed the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.
2002 -- Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah issued a decision specifying special areas for military operations in northern Kuwait.
2009 -- Former MP and Minister Talal Al-Ayyar passed away at 50 of age.
2011 -- Amiri Decree was issued assigning Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. (end) rk
