1980 -- Draft law was issued on formation of an environment protection council headed by the Minister of Health, tasked with proposing general policies, scientific and health standards to guarantee preservation of the environment, public health and safety while utilizing all natural resources.
2000 -- MP Sami Al-Mnayyes passed away at the age of 68. He was the Secretary General of Kuwait Democratic Forum, member of the first National Assembly in 1963 and parliaments elected in 1965, 1971, 1974, 1975, 1976, and 1999.
2003 -- Kuwait joined Arab Textiles Industries Union.
2007 -- Fire at Al-Jahra Hospital caused death of two old patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Patients of nine wards were evacuated and referred to other hospitals for further treatment.
2013 -- The conference of the Asian Ice Hockey was held in Kuwait, with participation of the game's international federation, 17 Asian unions in addition to those of Australia and New Zealand, with aim of developing the sport in the continent.
2015 -- Former National Assembly MP Falah Al-Hajraf died at age 93. (end) gta
