1932 -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Pasha Al-Said phoned Sir Francis Humphrey, British senior representative in both Iraq and Kuwait and informed him of the demarcation of borders between Iraq and Kuwait. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah later agreed to these borders.
1963 -- Kuwait opened embassy in Pakistan capital Islamabad and a consulate in major city Karachi.
1963 -- Kuwait Teachers Association, a national teachers' labour syndicate, was formed.
1997 -- Renowned Kuwaiti businessman, philanthropist and politician Nayef Hamad Al-Dabbous passed away at the age of 88. The man was known for being one of the founders of the industrial sector in the country and was elected an MP on two occasions.
1998 -- In an attempt to distort the facts and drift away from its refusal to release hundreds of Kuwaiti missing persons, Iraq decided to accuse Kuwait of keeping over 1,000 Iraqis, claiming they were captured by the tiny Gulf country during Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in 1990.
2002 -- Formation of Gulf University for Science and Technology approved by Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah.
2002 -- Nader Al-Jalal, Professor for Non-Organic Chemistry, appointed Kuwait University director, to become sixth person to take the job. Al-Jalal succeeds female professor Faiza Al-Kharafi.
2006 -- Kuwait Journalists Association (KJA) inducted for membership of Brussels-based International Federation of Journalists.
2007 -- Interior Ministry announced the capture of a sinister pedophile Egyptian national Hajjaaj Al-Saadi, nicknamed "The Hawalli Monster", who was accused of raping 18 children. Al-Saadi was caught at the airport during his attempt to flee the country.
2008 -- Kuwait national handball youth team crowned champions of Asia, after beating Qatar, 31-26, in the final held in Amman, Jordan.
2014 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon who was on an official visit to the country.
2016 -- Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed KD 22 million loan agreement with Tunisia to develop the Arab nation's irregation system. (end) gta
