KUWAIT, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- 1955 -- Kuwait Municipality warns water vendors against hiking prices.
1962 -- Kuwait Public Transport Company is launched with a capital of KD 2 million.
1991 -- Kuwait and the United States sign a 10-year defense agreement during a visit to Washington by Kuwaiti Minister of Defense Sheikh Ali Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
1994 -- Kuwait signs the nuclear safety agreement which is drafted in Vienna.
1999 -- Kuwaiti Health Minister Dr. Mohammad Al-Jarallah is elected as Vice-President of the World Health Organization East Mediterranean region at the 46th session held in Cairo.
2000 -- Fuhaid Al-Daihani wins Kuwait's first-ever Olympic medal, clinching a bronze in the double trap shooting event at the Sydney Games.
2001 -- Kuwait is elected member of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) during meetings in Vienna.
