1961 -- State of Kuwait joined the International Convention for the Prevention of Marine Pollution.
1963 -- Kuwait granted Iraq a loan of USD 100 million without interest to be repaid in 19 installments over 25 years.

1966 -- The Government of Kuwait signed an agreement with BP Ltd., Kuwait Gulf, and the Kuwait Oil Company Ltd. concerning oil royalty expenses.
1990 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah sent messages to leaders of the European Conference on Security and Cooperation held in Paris, warning them that the effects of the Iraqi invasion and occupation of Kuwait would target world security and stability, and that this invasion would do severe damage to world economies.
1990 -- The Union of Arab Historians withdrew confidence of its Secretary-General, Dr. Mustafa Najjar (Iraqi national) for issuing a statement on behalf of the Union in support of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait without the knowledge of the Union, as well as disapproving and condemning the invasion. The Union formed a committee to draft a historical document about Iraq's alleged historic rights of Kuwait.
