KUWAIT, Sept 19 (KUNA) -- 1960 -- Kuwait Municipality divideed South Shuwaikh into 32 residential plots and distributed them to citizens.
1962 -- Homes within the capital received pure water after completion of Roudhtain project.
1964 -- Mabanee Co. was established for construction of prefabricated housing units and for practice of other construction activities.
2000 -- Demise of former MP Mohammad Hamad Al-Barrak, aged 70 years. He started his political career early and took part in parliamentary life since formation of the first legislative council in 1963, as representative of the fourth constituency and was later elected for the second legislative council for same constituency. He also remained member of the constitution amendment committee until 1980.
2001 -- Ministry of Interior inaugurated the DNA identification laboratory at the public authority for penal investigation, first of its kind in the Middle East.
2001 -- Kuwaiti Olympic Committee signed, with both the Qatari Olympic Committee and the Public Authority for Youth and Sports in Bahrain, a memorandum of understanding allowing a Gulf player to play anywhere in all GCC with citizen status.
2008 -- George Washington University granted His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber al-Sabah its presidential medal, in honor of the Kuwaiti official's services to his country and people.
2012 -- Kuwait won the (E-Government Shield) award submitted by the Arab Organization for Administrative Development of the Arab League as the best interactive platform for social networking sites for official sites bodies group and general government.(end) tg
