KUWAIT, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- 1990 -- Iraqi troops deployed in occupied Kuwait reach 360,000, supported by 2,800 tanks, 1,800 armored vehicles, and 1,540 cannons.
1990 -- The State of Kuwait added an item to the UN General Assembly agenda concerning its occupation by Iraq.
1996 -- Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah died at the age of 96.
1999 -- The state Credit and Savings Bank hiked monthly installments on housing loans to KD 170 a month or five percent of salaries, whichever higher.
2000 -- Kuwait was elected to chair the 44th Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
2001 -- Kuwait and Japan signed an agreement ending oil exploration rights given to Japan in the Divided Zone.
