KUWAIT, Feb 18 (KUNA) -- 1913 -- First Arab charity society is set up in Kuwait, aimed at helping the poor and orphans.
1964 -- The first Chinese ambassador delivers credentials to late Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
1978 -- Late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah orders appointment of Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah as Crown Prince.
1981 -- Ibn Sina Hospital for specialized surgeries inaugurated.
1986 -- The new Central Library opens in Al-Mubarakiah.
1993 -- The National Zoo re-opens after being destroyed by the Iraqi occupation forces.
2003 -- Vanguards of the "Peninsula Shield" Force starts arriving in Kuwait to defend the country against the defunct Iraqi regime.
2012 -- Kuwait Environment Protection Society launches first wind-powered station.
