1979 -- Compound for radio and television broadcast was officially opened in the heart of Kuwait City.
1981 -- A law was issued on setting up an administrative circuit at the administrative court empowered to look into cases filed by civil servants.
1986 -- The new Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) was opened.
1993 -- The Ports Complex was opened after undergoing renovation over damage caused by the Iraqi occupation.
1998 -- The Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society handed out 31 tons of relief supplies to 1,130 Iraqi Kurdish families in Northwestern Iran comprising nearly 5,000 people.
2001 -- Kuwait News Agency hosted a meeting of the General Secretariat of The Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) and the Executive Bureau of The Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies.
2001 -- The Council of Ministers agreed to amend the offset program, reducing the value of military or civilian contracts and increasing the offset to 35 from 30 percent.
2002 -- The council of Ministers appointed Jasem AL-Oun chairman of the authority tasked with enforcing the offshore areas agreements and modernizing Kuwaiti islands.
