Today in Kuwait's History : 14/10/2015

KUWAIT, Oct 14 (KUNA) -- 1900 -- A French ship visited Kuwait and its captain met Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, the son of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah. The captain took photos which were considered the first to be taken of Kuwait.
1967 -- His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issued law 41/1967 on supporting Arab countries resources of which were directly affected by Israeli aggression.
1968 -- An Amiri Decree was issued stipulating establishment of the Military Academy.
1969 -- The Police Academy received the first group of students.
1972 -- Kuwait Society for the Blind was proclaimed.
1993 -- Hamad Abdulaziz Al-Humaidi died at the age of 72. He was a prominent teacher at Al-Noor Institute for the Blind. He had a diploma from Cairo in teaching the blind, although he was blind himself. He contributed to establishing Kuwaiti Blind Association and was its chairman for a long time.
2003 -- The enclosed shooting range was inaugurated at the complex of Kuwait Hunting and Equestrian Club in Sabhan.
2010 -- Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS) announced establishment of the Kuwaiti Quarter Mile Race Club and Kuwait Mind Games Club.
2010 -- Kuwait and Morocco signed a security cooperation agreement. (end) rk
