KUWAIT, Dec 11 (KUNA) -- 1954 -- The first edition of the state's official gazette titled, "Al-Kuwait Al-Yawm," was published.
1972 -- Kuwait opened an embassy building in Argentina.
1973 -- The Kuwaiti Accountants and Auditors Association was established.
1990 -- The late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, in an address on World Human Rights Day, condemned brutal practices perpetrated by the Iraqi occupation forces against the Kuwaiti people.
1994 -- An Amiri Decree was issued stipulating dissolution of the Municipal Council for irregularities and lack of harmony among its members.
2003 -- Kuwait and Italy signed a memorandum of military cooperation for exchange of expertise and holding joint military drills.
2006 -- The National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters honored Dr. Tharwat Akashah as the personality of 2006 at the 13th Qurain Cultural Festival. Akasha is credited for establishing theatrical, cinema, and dancing clubs.
2006 -- Kuwaiti woman inventor Fatimah Al-Thallab was honored with a golden award by the ministry of health for innovating a feeding bottle for babies born with cleft lips. The ministry also honored Diaa Al-Fayez for making a lift control device.
2007 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued law number 62/2007 to clamp down on commercial fraud.
2012 -- New Amiri decree issued assigning His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as the head of the new cabinet.
2013 -- Kuwait Oil Company signed USD 118 accord with British company to bolster administrative cooperation. (end) mb
