KUWAIT, May 7 (KUNA) -- 1969 -- First edition of "Al-Balagh", a weekly Islamic political magazine, is issued. Abdulrahman Al-Walayati is its chief editor.
1969 -- The Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, issues law 18/1969 on labeling and identifying state properties.
1977 -- New oil law between the Kuwaiti government and the Arabian Oil Company Ltd. is amended after agreement is approved by decree.
1977 -- Kuwait signs what is known as a "participation agreement" for the partial ownership of oil operations of the Arabian Oil Company Ltd. on August 23, 1974, after decree is passed on the move.
1985 -- Kuwait, Turkey and Tunisia sign an agreement for the establishment of a joint industrial company that produces chemical fertilizer.
1986 -- Kuwaiti Airways plane Kazma returns to Kuwait safely from Tehran after being hijacked from Dubai International Airport in 1984.
1994 -- Kuwait establishes diplomatic relations with South Africa.
1998 -- Kuwaiti leadng businessman Khaled Abdulatif Al-Hamad passed away at the age of 110.
2000 -- National culture complex project in Shuwaikh approved by Cabinet.
2000 -- Child labour banned in law passed by Cabinet.
2005 -- The First Arabic Poetry Forum, organized by Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Poetry Foundation, is inaugurated in Iraq by His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
2012 -- Zakat House celebrates 30 years since establishment, honoring top donators during a ceremony that is attended by His Highness the Crown Prince. (end) tg
