KUWAIT, March 7 (KUNA) -- 1995 -- The head of the public health authority, Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, inaugurated the chest diseases hospital.
1961 -- Kuwait sent a memorandum to the Arab League voicing willingness to contribute 17 percent to the United Arab Shipping Company.
1965 -- Al-Yarmouk Sports Club was proclaimed.
1982 -- Kuwait Computer Society was proclaimed.
1983 -- Kuwait Nursing Society was proclaimed.
1991 -- Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah held his first news conference after Kuwait's liberation from the Iraqi occupation to announce the government's plan for immediate reconstruction of the country.
1997 -- Farouq Ibrahim, the renowned player of Kuwait national football team and Al-Qadsiya Sports Club, passed away. Ibrahim had retired in 1978.
1998 -- The National Assembly approved a draft law banning by-elections.
1998 -- Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) agreed to finance for five years silver pomfret (Zubeidi) fish culture project at the cost of KD 300,000.
2000 -- The National Assembly agreed to hold its sessions on Monday and Tuesday every two weeks.
2000 -- The National Assembly approved a draft law on giving sport players leave from work to participate in game.
2005 -- His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurated the golden jubilee celebration of the establishment of Al-Sayer Group.
2007 -- Under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the biggest military show in Kuwait's history was held with the participation of land, air, marine forces, the Interior Ministry, security forces, and the National Guard. The show was held on the occasion of the 46th National Day, 16th Liberation Day, and the first anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Sabah's ascending to the top post.
2010 -- Kuwait and Lebanon signed a cooperation protocol for luring direct foreign investments, a MoU for industrial cooperation and another for holding fairs.
2012 -- Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) declared signing an accord with the World Bank to minimize gas emissions and secure optimum harnessing of renewable energy resources. (end) gta
