1964 -- An Amiri decree ordered the formation of the third government in the State of Kuwait. It grouped 14 ministers and was headed by Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
1990 -- UN General Assembly condemned the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait and blatant violations of international treaties by the Iraqi forces. The UN said those responsible must be punished.
1999 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah opened the new headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He expressed joy over the opening of the new building, which was built on 8,000 square meters plot of land at a cost of KD 13 million.
2004 -- Questioning of Deputy Premier and Minister of State for Cabinet and Parliament Affairs Mohammad Sharar ended with referring the issue to the Audit Bureau to verify the notes of MPs.
2005 -- The Social Development Office announced establishing the national center for dealing with violence, the first institution of its kind in Kuwait. The center aimed to treat violence medically and psychologically, in addition to tackling relevant legal problems.
2005 -- The Directorate General of Civil Aviation closed the airport due to bad weather and low visibility.
2010 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah called for finding a peaceful solution to the Iranian nuclear file. He also urged Iran to settle the issue of the three occupied UAE Islands in a peaceful manner.
2011 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued a decree to dissolve the National Assembly. (end) gta
