1957 -- First edition of the weekly newspaper Al-Shaab (The People) was published. Only 62 editions of this newspaper were printed.
1959 -- The Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issued decrees placing laws for granting the Kuwaiti nationality, passports and residency for foreigners.
1963 -- The Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issued a decree placing the census law.
1963 -- First Yugoslav ambassador delivered credentials to the Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
1963 -- Ahmad Saleh Al-Humaidhi passed away. He was a member of the State Higher Council, annulled in 1962, and he headed the municipality and was board member of the Pan-Arab Airways. He also participated in the committee tasked with placing the elections law in 1962.
1973 -- A Kuwaiti company for iron production and making sewer and plumbing pipes and tools was founded.
1997 -- Kuwait was elected a member of the UN agency for industrial development, UNIDO.
1999 -- The Cabinet approved appointment of Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as the special advisor, with qa ministerial degree, to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
2000 -- The Ministry of Interior declared locating large amounts of explosives, mines, shells and hand-grenades in Al-Oqaila.
2007 -- Yousef Saleh Al-Olaiyan, one of the founders of Kuwait Journalists Association and editor-in-chief of Kuwait Times, passed away at the age of 75.
2010 -- Kuwait national team won 20th Gulf Football Cup held in Yemen, beating Saudi Arabia by 1-0 in the final. This was Kuwait's 10th title win.(end) haq
