KUWAIT, Oct 4 (KUNA) -- 1963 -- Iraq recognized Kuwait's independence, sovereignty and borders as outlined in a letter by the Iraqi Prime Minister on July 21, 1932, which was accepted by Kuwait's ruler Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber on August 10, 1932. Ambassadors were then exchanged. The agreement was registered by Kuwait at the Arab League and the United Nations.
1993 -- Municipal elections were held. Ten out of 53 candidates for the Municipal Council membership were elected. Mohammed Al-Shaya' was elected as its chairman.
1998 -- The Cabinet approved a project to build the town of Subbiya and a bridge linking it to Kuwait City.
2004 -- Kuwaiti citizens Ghanem Al-Othman and Fadhel Al-Saifi met their fate in a sailplane crash in the desert. Al-Othman was a well known adventurer who had toured the world by sea in record time, year and a half, crossing 30,000 nautical miles.
2011 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah hosted Dr. Mohammad Ahmad Al-Jarallah for winning a renowned British scientific award.
2011 -- Kuwait called on the Security Council to refer Israeli genocides against the Palestinians to the International Criminal Court.
2012 -- Kuwait Oil Company declared signing a deal with a Korean company to build power stations in South and East Kuwait.
2012 -- Jaber Al-Ahmad Armed Forces Hospital declared conducting up to 35 operations with state-of-art techniques. (end) ab.rk
