1999 -- Kuwaiti artist, Mohammed Al-Sraye', passed away aged 59. The deceased was a pioneer in the field of theatre and played a role in the foundation of the Arab Gulf Theatrical Troupe.
2000 -- The cabinet approved a legislation stipulating the establishment of private universities in Kuwait.
2005 -- Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sponsored the golden jubilee ceremony for kindergartens.
2006 -- Head of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters opened Sadou House after its restoration to keep alive the interest in the traditional Kuwaiti weaving art.
2006 -- Kuwait shooting team won a gold medal at the 15th Asian Games held in Doha after shooters Khalid Al-Modhaf, Nasser Al-Miqled, and Abdulrahman Al-Faihan got 327 points. Shooter Nasser Al-Miqled also won a gold medal in the individual shooting category, hitting 133 targets out of 150.
2006 -- MP Faisal Al-Meslem presented a grilling motion against Minister of Information Mohammad Al-Sanousi.
2008 -- Social Affairs and Labor Minister Counselor Bader Al-Duwailah inaugurated Al-Farwaniya traditional cafe.
