KUWAIT, Oct 2 (KUNA) -- 1961 -- The first Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait, Jamil Al-Juhailan, presented his credentials to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
1982 -- The Kuwait Center for Fighting Cancer launched activities.
1999 -- The State of Kuwait won the gold medal at the Arab Radio Drama Production Festival held in Tunis.
2000 -- The State of Kuwait and Iran signed a memo of understanding over security issues which included fighting drugs, border infiltration and cooperation with the Interpol.
2001 -- The first elections for students of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training took place.
2002 -- The State of Kuwait and Iran signed a memo of understanding to enhance military cooperation. The agreement was signed during a visit by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, to Tehran.
2003 -- Energy Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah inaugurated Kuwait's Jaber Marine Reserve.
2005 -- HSBC bank opened a branch in Kuwait and became the first foreign bank to offer comprehensive services in the Arabian Gulf country. (end) rk
