KUWAIT, July 2 (KUNA) -- 1938 -- A law on the major authorities of the National Assembly was issued.
1961 -- Kuwait issued a release as response to remarks by Iraqi President Abdulkareem Qasim on June 25,1961 on alleged historical claims in Kuwait. Kuwait also submitted an urgent complaint to the Security Council on the claims.
1996 -- The National Assembly approved a draft law proposed by the government regulating co-presence of male and female students at Kuwait University, the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, and private schools.
1997 -- The first issue of "Al-Dustour" weekly paper was published. It was a parliamentary publication with Sheridah Al-Muousharji as Editor-in-Chief.
2000 -- Kuwait and Saudi Arabia completed demarcation of maritime borders and celebrated the occasion at a ceremony at Bayan Palace with presence of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chief of the National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. An agreement was signed by First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal.
2000 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah honored Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chief of the National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz with the highest Kuwaiti medal, Mubarak Al-Kabeer Medal, in appreciation for his country's role in supporting Kuwaiti causes.
2000 -- Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chief of the National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz honored His Highness the Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah with the highest Saudi medal, King Abdulaziz Medal.
2004 -- Chairman of Kuwait Bowling Federation Sheikh Talal Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah became Chairman of the Asian Bowling Federation following elections that were held in Bangkok.
2006 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued an Amiri Order, appointing Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Prime Minister.
2007 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued decrees on establishing Kuwaiti embassies in Brunei Darussalam, Bhutan, Vietnam, Singapore, Hungary and Timor-Leste.(end) rk
