KUWAIT, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- 1934 -- Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is established in the southern city of Ahmadi, named after Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. KOC's main field of operation is exploration, digging wells and producing oil and natural gas.
1952 -- The wireless radio house is inaugurated in Kuwait.
1955 -- Al-Fajir (dawn) magazine is published by the Graduates' Society.
1958 -- A Danish archeological mission starts excavations in Failaka Island.
1969 -- Kuwait Volleyball Association is founded.
1971 -- An Amiri decree is issued on the formation of the country's seventh cabinet headed by Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
1971 -- An Amiri decree is issued changing the name of the Ministry of Guidance and Information to the Ministry of Information.
1999 -- TV broadcast of parliamentary sessions commences.
2002 -- Enforcement of charge meters for call taxi service.
2003 -- The constitutional court rules that the constitutional period for the National Assembly is four full years and that the renewal of 60 days before the end of its tenure was for procedures related to holding the next elections.(end) ag
