MADRID, May 28 (KUNA) -- Spain expressed deep concern on Sunday at latest bout of infighting in Libya where more than 50 people lost their life.
Spanish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Libyan people deserve to live in peace, security and prosperity.
It called on the warring parties to abandon violent means and seek to serve the people's interests through dialogue and negotiations.
The ministry also urged the foes to stop violence immediately and ensure safety of the civilians.
The Spanish statement expressed support for the UN reconciliation efforts in the troubled nation.
Tripoli has witnessed street fighting between forces of the internationally-recognized Al-Wefaq government and militiamen belonging to the National Salvation Front, led by Khalifa Al-Ghawil. (end) hnd.rk
