KUWAIT, April 16 (KUNA) -- Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled Bin Ahmad Al-Khalifa said Sunday dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Iran was ongoing.
Bahrain highly appreciates endeavors of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in leading the dialogue with Iran on behalf of the GCC, Sheikh Khaled told reporters at the opening of the new Bahraini Embassy building in Kuwait.
He hoped Iran would positively react with these endeavors.
Sheikh Khaled said he would submit a report over the dialogue to the upcoming GCC Consultative Summit.
Kuwaiti First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah submitted a letter from His Highness the Amir to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani late last January over dialogue between the GCC and Tehran based on mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs.
Sheikh Khaled, meanwhile, said the 9th meeting of the Joint Kuwaiti-Bahraini Committee approved cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding.
The two sides signed three MoUs on legislative coordination and cooperation in electricity and central and popular markets.
They also inked three executive programs for cooperation in education, culture, arts and preservation of the environment. (pickup previous) nma.bs
