TEHRAN, Nov 25 (KUNA) -- More than 30 people were killed and nearly 100 others injured when two Iranian passenger trains collided near the city of Semnan, northeast Iran.
Deputy Chairman of the Red Crescent Society for Relief and Rescue operation Ali Yahyaei told the press on Friday that the train collision caused four carriages to derail and two to catch fire. Rescue teams are still working to save lives.
Medical teams are working to identify the fatalities of the "horrific" accident, he pointed out.
Helicopters and ambulances were sent to join the rescue operations. (end) fz.nfm
