AMMAN, Sept 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah stressed the importance of boosting cooperation in the realms of sports and youth affairs in the Arab world.
The Kuwaiti Minister made this remark upon his arrival to Jordan to participate in FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup which will kick off tomorrow in the Capital Damascus. His visit was upon the invitation of president of the Jordan Football Association Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein.
Under the directives of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah a "national youth document" to support all issues related to sports and youth.
Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud pointed out that having Jordan to host this sporting event is an evidence of a "great advancement on the technical and sporting levels" and a proof that Jordan is highly recognized by international sporting agencies.
On his part, Jordan's Minister of Sports and Youth Rami Wraikat praised bilateral ties and Kuwait's undying support to Jordan in various domains.
The 2016 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup is a biennial international women's youth football championship contested by the under-17 national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The tournament will be held in Jordan from 30 September to 21 October 2016. (end) mjb.nfm
