KUWAIT, Feb 9 (KUNA) -- Parliamentary caucus held its first meeting in the fourth legislative term on Tuesday and elected MP Faisal Al-Shaya as its undersecretary.
The session was presided over by Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim in which MP Auda Al-Rowaey was elected caucus' secretary and MP Humoud Al-Hamdan was chosen as its treasurer, while MPs Khalil Abdullah and Madi Al-Hajri were named for executive committee.
The caucus approved, during its meeting, the agenda and authorized the report of general assembly held on January 13 of 2015.
It also approved reports of conferences and meetings held between February of 2014 and December of 2015.
According to Article 6 of the caucus' bylaws, Speaker of National Assembly heads the caucus, while undersecretary chairs it in the absence of the Speaker. Under the same article, the secretary heads the caucus if the two above-mentioned are not present.
The caucus office supervises activities in Inter-Parliamentary Union, Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, and international and Arab parliamentary organizations in order to organize participation of the caucus' delegations. (end) hrz.tab.hm
