ALGIERS, Dec 2 (KUNA) -- Libyan Neighboring countries have agreed during their meeting on Tuesday night to continue the consultations so as to resolve Libya's crisis.
In the final communique received by KUNA, UN special envoy for Libya Martin Kobler said Algiers meeting is a positive step towards the settlement of Libya's crisis, adding that meetings would be held constantly and all countries will be briefed regularly on the latest developments.
He referred to the "key role" Algeria played in encouraging the Libyan parties to solve the crisis politically.
The communique said that the political solution proposed by the UN is a platform that guarantees the settlement of crisis, and maintaining the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Libya.
Conferees in the communique called for approving the political agreement proposed by UN envoy to meet aspirations of the Libyan people so as to live in peace, underlining the need for the formation of a national unity government to address economic, political and security challenges facing Libya.
Participants pledged to provide full support for the Libyan authorities after forming the government in order to rebuild the country, urging the International Contact Group for Libya to back all Libya's institutions to achieve their mission.
They discussed the deterioration of humanitarian situations in Libya due to the outbreak of crisis.
Conferees expressed their concerns over growing terror acts, stressing that if the crisis is unsolved, this will be in favor of terrorism, organized crimes and all types of smuggling via borders which undermine the security of Libya and its neighboring countries.
Algerian Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and the Arab League Abdelkader Messahel presided over the meeting, with the participation of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and foreign ministers of some Arab and African countries as well as representatives from the Arab League, the African and European Unions.
