WASHINGTON, Aug 27 (KUNA) -- King Salman Bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia will visit the White House on September 4, the White House confirmed on Saturday.
"His visit underscores the importance of the strategic partnership between the United States and Saudi Arabia," White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said during a briefing aboard Air Force One en route to New Orleans, where President Barack Obama was to speak to commemorate the 10-year-anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
"The President and the King will discuss a range of issues and focus on ways to further strengthen the bilateral relationship, including our joint security and counter-terrorism efforts," Earnest said.
"They will also discuss regional topics including the conflicts in Yemen and Syria, and steps to counter Iran's destabilizing activities in the region". (end) rm.hb
