KUWAIT, April 1 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti-Mexican Friendship Society Head Carlos Peralta has congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the successful Third International Humanitarian Pledging Conference for Syria held in Kuwait on Tuesday.
During his meeting with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Mexico Samih Hayat, he said Kuwait always supports righteousness and justice, and calls for promoting peace and dialogue and ending conflicts.
The Kuwaiti Embassy in Mexico said in a statement to KUNA that Peralta praised the efforts exerted by His Highness the Amir in strengthening and boosting Kuwait's relations with the international community and its leading role in uniting and supporting Arab and Islamic nations in face of all challenges they encounter.
In a step to boost Mexico's ties with the Arab world, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto will be on an official visit to Kuwait besides a number of countries in the region very soon, he added.
He commended Kuwait as a pioneering country in the humanitarian relief field worldwide, something which granted this Gulf nation a significant and eminent position in the international community and enabled it to win the respect of world nations.
Peralta hailed the positive results of the First Arab Cultural Week in Mexico that came to a close last Sunday.
The Arab Cultural Week in Mexico, held under the auspices of the Mexican Foreign Ministry, succeeded in building new bridges between Mexico and the Arab world, said Ambassador Hayat, adding that several exhibitions, meetings, and arts galleries were held during the cultural week.
The Arab Cultural Week in Mexico was opened on March 24 by Mexican Foreign Minister Jose Antonio Meade to mark 70 years of Arab-Mexican relations. (end) lb
