CAIRO, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- Egyptian armed forces killed 10 terrorist elements and arrested 18 others during clashes and anti-terrorist campaign in Sinai, Military Spokesman Brig. Mohammad Samir said Sunday.
The targeted elements were involved in attacks on military and police checkpoints, he said noting that Youssef Moussa Zare', a wanted terrorist, was among those killed.
During the crackdown the military destroyed 12 vehicles of various types and 41 motorcycles and beach buggies without license plates which were used in attacks against the army and the police.
The army also destroyed 87 terrorist hideouts including 15 underground shelters and two underground field hospitals, the spokesman noted.
The troops detonated seven ready-to-use explosive charges, and seized 2,500 anti-aircraft bullets of caliber 14.5 mm., two communication devices and military uniforms. (end) rg.gb
