KUWAIT, July 19 (KUNA) -- A total of 6,131 illegal residents have adjusted their legal status during the period from 2011 to mid-July 2014, the Central Apparatus for Illegal Residents' Affairs said here on Saturday.
Out of the total, 4,553 illegal residents have adjusted their position into the Saudi nationality, 633 into the Syrian nationality, 585 into the Iraqi nationality, 62 into the Iranian nationality, 46 into the Jordanian nationality and 252 into other nationalities, the acting director of the agency for status adjustment Col. Khaled Al-Maghrabi told KUNA.
The agency provides a package of incentives to illegal residents who adjust their legal status and come up with their original nationalities.
For instance, the agency grants all their family members a five-year residency permit with no fees incurred, free-of-charge educational and health services, supply cards and recruitment at public agencies and bodies. (end) ams.tb.mt
