ISLAMABAD, Sept 3 (KUNA) -- At least two suspected militants were killed by

Karachi on Tuesday, said police.

while three of their accomplices managed to escape from the scene.
The firing of the militants injured a policeman and police recovered hand
grenades and other weapons from the militants. The dead bodies were shifted to
the nearby hospital for postmortem. Earlier on Monday, Police arrested over
100 suspects allegedly involved in street crimes, robberies, drug business and
other crimes during raids in different parts of Karachi.
According to police, around 70 suspects were arrested from Landhi, and
Korangi areas where nine people were rounded up in Zaman Town and Chakra Goth,

Moreover, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has reached Karachi to overview
the ground realities as the law and order situation of the city was worsening.
A political party Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain
demanded the government to handover the administration of Karachi to Pakistan
Army due to continuous violence in the city. However, the opposition of
the military operation in Karachi by all the major political parties including
ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has ruled out the possibility of military
involvement but called for a targeted operation in the city to control
violence.
The Prime MInister's secratariat had said that Sharif is likely to give
approval of a joint grand targeted operation during the meeting of the federal
cabinet to finally decide regarding steps for peace in the port city. The
